Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination for young pets and twice a year exams for cats and dogs over 7 years of age. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets’ complete health care needs.
Surgical Services: We offer the most advanced surgical techniques. Surgical services and facilities include fully trained veterinary and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; including CO2 Laser surgery. Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. They replace scalpels in many procedures, and are useful for a wide range of surgeries from routine spays, castrations and declaws to cystotomies and tumor removals. The CO2 Laser cauterizes as it cuts resulting in less bleeding; it deadens the nerve endings resulting in less pain and it seals the lymphatic vessels resulting in less swelling.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient’s vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
Digital Radiology and Ultrasound Services: Our on-site, digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. Our non-invasive, state-of-the art ultrasound uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organ systems, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available. Color-flow Doppler follows blood flow throughout veins and arteries to further assess organ functions. Telemedicine Specialists are available for consultation without your pet ever leaving the hospital.
Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site with consultations to cardiology specialists.
Dentistry: Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasonic cleaners to reach each tooth, both above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish the teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory provides testing for blood, urine and fecal samples as well as screening for heartworm disease, giardia, feline leukemia, FIV and tick-borne diseases such as lyme disease, anaplasmosis and ehrlichia. We also have an outside lab for more involved tests with most results back in 24-48 hours.
Microchipping: Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We carry the HomeAgain Microchip to increase the chances of a safe recovery.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
Individualized Flea Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard, and on your pet.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet’s nutritional needs for each life stage- including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
Behavioral Counseling: Some behaviors don’t always have a physical cause. We employ staff veterinarians who help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client.
Birds, Reptiles, Rabbits and Small Mammals: Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatments of exotics.
Blood Transfusion: We maintain a supply of blood for all type of pets in case of emergency. The blood is collected from donor pets that live with their owners, and all blood is carefully screened for disease.
Immunization and Wellness Care: We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam, internal parasite testing, heartworm and flea control, vaccination program, when to spay or castrate and specialized blood tests for all life stages.
