Michael Muhlnickel has the privilege of being our only male technician. He and his wife Erika have three children; Hayden, Harper and Hope. They also are working on their menagerie which currently has 2 dogs, 2 cats, a hedgehog and a bearded dragon. He has worked at Erie Zoo but also has a biology degree and is a licensed science teacher. We are very happy that with all his options he has decided to work with us at Animal Ark.
Many of you will recognize this employee, Kris Wilcox. She started out many years ago as a technician and is now a manager/technician. She loves to travel and take road trips. Spending time with her family and “date nights” with her nieces are high on her list of favorite things to do. She has two little dogs of her own that love to cuddle with her when she is home but since she works multiple jobs that isn’t as often as any of them would like!
Say “Hello” to another one of our receptionists, Suzy. As you can see from the picture she is a fan of Labrador Retrievers! Suzy loves everything outdoors; camping, fishing, 4wheelers. She was born and raised in Erie but love to travel and meet new people along with experiencing new things.
This is Ashley, one of our receptionists. She has two dogs, Wesley a pitbull/boxer and Molson a miniature schnauzer along with two cats, Cameron and Peanut. Ashley loves to travel, her favorite places have been Cabo San Lucas and New Orleans. Before coming back in Erie, Ashley lived in Buffalo NY and worked at the Hard Rock Cafe. She loved the parks in Niagara Falls and exploring the American Falls Gorge.
Say hello to Lucinda, one of our technicians. She has been a part of the Animal Kingdom family from almost the beginning! Lucinda loves ballroom dancing, riding her motorcycle and spending time with her grandchildren.
Billi Jo is one of our technicians. She enjoys the outdoors including wheeler riding, camping, hunting, fishing, site seeing and relaxing around a fire. Billi grew up in the country on a small farm with many different kinds of animals including horses, donkey, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, rabbits, cows, cats and dogs. If people didn’t want their animals she would take them. Oh, she also had rats! Billi always had the desire to help and care for animals no one wanted or that didn’t belong. Along with her 3 teenage boys Billi has 5 beautiful furbabies, each having their own story. A couple more facts about Billi is she loves to help others, keep busy, make people smile and feel welcome and happy. Her passion is working with animals and their humans.
This is our practice manager, Diane. Here she is in her office at the Ark with Ida, one of her rescue dogs. Diane fosters and helps transport for Big Fluffy Dog Rescue when she isn’t working or spending time with her own dogs. She has been at the Ark and Kingdom for 21 years. Yes, that’s a long time but she obviously loves her job!
