The Animal Ark Pet Hospital was founded in 1987 by Dr. Gerald Campbell with the goal of providing top quality pet care in a professional and friendly atmosphere.  Our clients and pets were coming from Erie and the surrounding areas, and in 1998, we opened our second location, Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital, to meet our increased demands for our services.  Both hospitals are fully equipped and staffed to provide complete veterinary care, including orthopedics, dermatology, dentistry, internal medicine, in-house laboratory testing, radiology, ultrasound and telemedicine consultations, nutritional counseling and behavioral evaluations and treatment. Our additional partners include Curtis Murphey, Kevin Ramey, Christine Nestor, Michael Watts and Valerie Reamer.  The diverse and varied educational backgrounds representing 6 different veterinary schools provide the opportunity for your pet to receive the best possible care.  Our staff is well trained to answer all of your pet related questions and takes pride in being a major component of our health care team. We constantly strive to enhance our knowledge and communication skills to ensure that owners understand the treatments recommended by our doctors.  We also realize the importance of preventative medicine, or wellness care, to ensure that your pet lives both a long and high quality life.  We guard dearly the trust our clients place in us for the care of their beloved pets.  At both our hospitals, quality care blended with compassion facilitates our mutual goal, which is the best patient care possible.

Dr. Curtis Murphey - Partner
I currently live with my wife and three sons in the Fairview area.  I came to Animal Ark Pet Hospital in 1991 after receiving a B.A. from Washington and Jefferson College in 1987 and a D.V.M. from the University of Minnesota in 1991.  I've been very fortunate to have spent the last 17 years with such a great group of colleagues, employees, patients and clients.  I've gotten to know a lot of fascinating people and pets over the years and I look forward to getting to know and work with many more of you in the future.

 Dr. Kevin Ramey - Partner

Dr. Ramey graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1993 with a BS then received  his DVM from Ohio State University in 1997.  He is especially interested in animal behavior and exotic pet medicine.  He is a member of American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) and the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV) among other veterinary associations.

Dr. Christine Nestor - Partner       
Dr. Nestor graduated from Gannon University in 1992 with a B.S. in Biology.  She graduated in 1996 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University.  She is a member of AVMA and PVMA.  She is very interested in all outdoor activities including hiking and Triathlon training with her husband, Bob.  She spends her free time with her son, Alex and her daughter, Sophia.

 Dr. Valerie Reamer - Partner
Dr. Reamer graduated from Minnesota State University with a DVM.  She is quite busy in her spare time.  If she is not with her English Mastiffs, she might be found with her nieces; Ava, Claire and Paige.  Valerie is an amateur artist in clay sculpting and sketching and likes to spend time in the flower garden of her family home in Oil City, Pennsylvania.  If all this wasn't enough to keep her busy, she and her family enjoy traveling across the United States by train.

Dr. Michael Watts - Partner
Dr. Watts graduated in 2000 from the University of Pennsylvania with a VMD.  Along with treating cats and dogs he also enjoys the challenge of caring for exotic pets.  When he is not performing with the Erie Playhouse, he and his wife Lorrie enjoy spending time with their son, Logan and daughter, Rebekah.

Dr. Robert B. Jung:

Dr. Jung graduated in 2006 with a DVM from Iowa State University. He lives in Erie with his wife, Cara who is an Adjunct Professor in the Ceramic Arts at the State University of New York Fredonia. Together they have a son named Rowan, a daughter named Stella, a dog named ‘Rocket’ and a three legged cat named ‘Beetles’ Dr. Jung occasionally ‘moonlights’ at the Northwest PA Pet Emergency Center and at Presque Isle Downs Horse Track. His passions in Veterinary Medicine include Emergency & Critical Care Medicine, Theriogenology, Neonatal Medicine and Soft Tissue Surgery.

Dr. Elizabeth Piersol:
Dr. Elizabeth Piersol joined our practice in early 2006 after practicing in the local area for 12 years.  She is originally from Columbus, Ohio and received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree in 1990 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1994 from Ohio State University.  She currently resides in North East with her husband, Jim and two sons, Jimmy and Matt.  She has special interests in theriogenology (reproduction), pediatric medicine, ophthalmology and dermatology.  She also enjoys boating, reading and gardening.

Dr. Jenny Grimshawe:

Dr. Jenny Grimshawe graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in January 2010 and completed her clinical year of rotations at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in dermatology and anesthesia & pain management. In May 2011, Dr. Jenny attended a continuing education conference for ophthalmology at the Ohio State Veterinary College. When she isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, going on walks with her dogs, canoing, and watching Auburn football!
